Goodbye Masks in Schools

On February 28, 2022, California Governor Gavin Newsom announced that as of 11:59 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2022, masks will no longer be required in schools or child care facilities, regardless of vaccination status. Governor Newsom also announced that starting Tuesday, March 1, 2022, unvaccinated individuals will no longer be required to wear a mask in most indoor settings. However, masks will continue to be required, regardless of vaccine status, on “public transit, emergency shelters, health care settings, correctional facilities, homeless shelters and long-term care facilities.” The Governor strongly recommends continued mask use by all in most indoor settings.
